💬 Mobile Compatability

I feel like this was half worked on or maybe in progress because some sections of Jiki load and function perfectly on my phone but others such as the main home page are partially cut off. Either way full mobile support would be huge for programming in general as there are very limited ways to continue to learn while not at home infront of a computer.

For example I’m writing this forum post on my phone The screen is not scrolling down as I type and my keyboard is covering everything on the bottom half of the screen so I can’t see what I’m typing or if I’m making mistakes without closing out of the keypad and checking.

Hello @profio. Thanks for posting!

Two different things here:

  1. The forum.
  2. The Jiki Platform

The forum is Discourse - a common opensource platform. There’s not much we can do to fix that. I would eventually like to move us off this and have a more custom option we can do in a more integrated way, but for now, if Discourse isn’t great on your mobile, I can’t do much about that. It’s frustrating.

For the platform, I’m a little torn as to whether I think it’s possible to actually use it on mobile (like not technically, but conceptually). There’s a lot of info to deal with, a lot of typing that you have to do, and stuff to see. So it’s difficult for me to imagine someone being able to learn without a proper screen. BUT I have thought more about this over the last week, and maybe we should just try it and see how people find it. It’s probably only a day’s work to get right.

What device are you trying to use this on?
